The Golf Shop Attendant is the primary point of contact for golfers upon arrival and ensures a welcoming, organized, and efficient experience. Additionally, the Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for assisting with retail sales and sales of food and beverage while delivering outstanding hospitality and guest service.

Guest Services

• Greet all golfers and patrons warmly and professionally upon arrival
• Assist with reserving tee times, checking in golfers, and processing payments
• Assist Golf Shop Manager in monitoring pace of play and communicate as needed
• Handle guests’ questions, concerns, and special requests with professionalism, both in-person and by telephone
• Monitor golf range services to ensure the range is welcoming and accommodating by setting up and breaking down daily, making certain the facility is clean and that adequate, clean range balls are available at all times
• Set and maintain the following: cart staging area, the driving range practice tees, putting green and short game area
• Have a working knowledge of all upcoming tournaments and programs to be able to assist the Golf Shop Manager in providing accurate information for guests
• Promote a welcoming, hospitable, service-oriented environment at all times

Retail Operations

• Assist Golf Shop Manager with sales of golf shop merchandise including apparel, accessories, and equipment
• Assist in processing retail sales accurately using POS system
• Assist in maintaining organized, clean, and attractive merchandise displays
• Assist Golf Shop Manager with inventory control and stocking
• Assist Golf Shop Manager with tracking sales trends of merchandise
• Perform other duties as assigned or required

Food & Beverage Sales

• Sell and restock grab-and-go snacks and beverages
• Ensure necessary food items such as condiments, bread/buns, hotdogs, burgers, shortening etc. for short order menu are adequately stocked
• Assist guests with food and beverage orders and process sales accurately
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
• Maintain cleanliness and health standards for food distribution, food prep and beverage areas at all times

Other Day-to Day Operations Responsibilities

• Periodically during shift, attendant will be responsible for inspecting all guest areas, including, but not limited to restrooms, golf shop, the patio, driving range and kitchen for loose trash/debris and spills and keeping outdoor seating dry after rain to ensure the areas are welcoming and clean at all times
• Assist with opening and closing the golf shop according to procedures upon request
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and check-in area
• Assist Golf Shop Manager with coordinating with maintenance and grounds staff regarding daily play
• Assist with all activities related to tournaments and special events as needed

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old, presently in high school, have a high school diploma or GED, or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential functions of the position
• Must have a valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation
• Strong customer service and hospitality skills with retail or hospitality experience preferred
• Must be willing to work outdoors
• Basic cash handling and POS experience
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours, as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift light and heavy objects, climb ladders, use tools or equipment requiring high degree of dexterity, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color, and/or move 10 lbs. or more, if necessary
• Knowledge of golf is helpful but not required
