Grounds Crew Staff

Position Summary

The Grounds Crew Staff member is responsible for supporting the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of maintaining the Golf Course grounds and associated work areas. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn new skills and will take pride in their contribution to the high quality of the Golf Course grounds. The Grounds Crew staff shall provide a welcoming experience for all members, guests and associates. This is a physically active, outdoor position requiring early mornings, weekend availability, reliability, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Course Maintenance

  • Mow greens, tees, fairways, rough, and practice areas
  • Rake and maintain bunkers
  • Set tee markers and hole locations
  • Maintain cart paths and surrounding areas
  • Remove debris, fallen limbs, and trash from course

Turf & Grounds Care

  • Assist with irrigation system monitoring and minor repairs
  • Apply fertilizers and treatments as directed (if certified or supervised)
  • Edge, trim, and landscape around clubhouse and course features
  • Monitor turf health and report problem areas

Equipment Operation & Care

  • Operate equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers, and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools
  • Perform daily equipment cleaning and basic inspections
  • Report mechanical issues promptly
  • Observe all safety practices and protocols and adhere to all policies set forth by Warmouth Sands Golf Course
  • Other tasks related to the maintenance of the course and pro shop buildings as required

Course Presentation

  • Ensure bunkers are properly edged and raked
  • Maintain clean tee boxes and green surrounds
  • Prepare course for tournaments and special events
  • Maintain professional standards of course appearance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (must be at least 16 years old)
  • Previous golf course maintenance experience is an asset

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, varying temperatures and inclement weather
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds frequently, 25 pounds regularly and perform physical labor
  • Requires walking and standing for long periods of time. The duration of time will vary dependent on specific task being accomplished
  • Work tasks are performed predominantly outdoors and involve physical strength, endurance and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
  • Ability and willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience in landscaping, turf management, or golf course maintenance preferred but not required
  • Equipment operation experience a plus

  • Weekend and holiday availability required
